During the third quarter of 2022, the top 5 communication apps in Madagascar demonstrated varied performance across downloads, revenue, and active users. According to Sensor Tower, here’s a closer look at how each app fared:

Messenger from Meta Platforms, Inc. saw a steady weekly revenue of around $3, with a slight increase to $4 in the first week of August. Weekly downloads peaked at 14.9K in mid-July and fluctuated throughout the quarter, ending with approximately 9.3K in the last week of September. Active users showed a consistent upward trend, rising from 375K at the beginning of the quarter to around 414K by the end.

WhatsApp Messenger maintained stable weekly downloads, peaking at 12.4K in mid-September. Active users remained relatively constant, hovering around 2.52M throughout the quarter. Notably, the app did not generate any revenue during this period.

Snapchat from Snap Inc. experienced fluctuating weekly revenue, with a peak of $13 in mid-July. Downloads varied, hitting a high of 8.4K at the beginning of August and a low of 4.4K at the end of the month. Active users increased steadily, reaching approximately 67K by the end of September.
